The Role

As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll play a critical role in the development and support of our cloud-based data pipelines. You'll work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that drive business value and support our strategic initiatives. Your work will involve a range of activities, including:

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design data pipelines that meet business needs
Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using a range of technologies, including SQL, Python, and Docker
Creating and managing data sets, tables, and views to support data analysis and science models
Delivering high-quality data sets as input to science models and visualizations
Troubleshooting and resolving issues with data pipelines and data sets
Collaborating with our Data Engineering team to design and implement data governance and security best practices

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer who can hit the ground running. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
Strong expertise in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
Experience working in a multi-cloud environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and with DEVOPS strategies for code organization and development
Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers
Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices

What Sets You Apart

If you have experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar, you'll be well-positioned for success in this role. Additionally, if you're proficient in cloud design and product development, ideally with AWS, and have experience managing and delivering code using a source control tool like GitLab/GitHub, you'll be a strong candidate.
