Senior PHP Developer

We’re seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior PHP/Symfony Developer to join our Core Team. This role is designed for a strong backend engineer who thrives in complex systems, can quickly ramp within a mature codebase, and contributes with minimal direction. The Senior PHP/Symfony Developer partners closely with our Core Architect and an international engineering team to build, maintain, and scale the InsCipher platform. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving ability, and the confidence to engage directly with internal stakeholders and clients on complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and scale core platform functionality within a mature PHP/Symfony codebase Troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root causes across backend services, APIs, and integrations Support client-facing technical discussions as needed, particularly for API and integration-related challenges Build and maintain backend services using PHP 8.x and Symfony, ensuring clean, modular, and well-tested code Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that support internal systems and external integrations Manage and optimize database performance, including schema design and query efficiency across MySQL and MongoDB Contribute to and maintain Node.js-based microservices for real-time processing and internal tooling Collaborate with an international engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions Participate in on-call rotation and support production systems as required Work within modern development practices, including version control, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned Requirements and Qualifications 4+ years of professional backend development experience within a team environment Expertise in PHP 8.x and Symfony (or similar framework such as Laravel) Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems and services Strong experience working with MySQL, including schema design and performance optimization Hands-on experience working with MongoDB in a production environment Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations Functional proficiency in React and Node.js Proficiency with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD workflows Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and work independently within a mature codebase Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Compensation
