About the Role & Team The Junior Taxonomy & Research Analyst supports the ongoing development, governance, and operational integrity of IDC’s enterprise taxonomy framework. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data consistency, market alignment, and structural scalability across IDC products, platforms, and research deliverables. Key responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing taxonomy structures, assisting with the tagging, categorization, and mapping of enterprise data in accordance with established governance standards, and reviewing annually published taxonomy documents to ensure alignment with current market dynamics. The junior analyst will also verify consistent taxonomy usage across reports and research outputs. In support of data transformation initiatives, this role conducts market and internal research to identify gaps in current data structures and recommend enhancements. As new data tools and technologies emerge, particularly those associated with Trevi and Nova, the junior analyst will support classification review and validation prior to product development. The role provides operational support through routine taxonomy audits to ensure consistency and accuracy across platforms. The associate will serve as a resource to analysts by reviewing and refining taxonomy definitions used in research publications, including Market Glance reports, and will also help review and maintain quality standards across other key IDC deliverables such as IDC MarketScape documents. Working closely with a senior team lead, this individual will help implement structural enhancements and scale operational coverage to support evolving research, data, and product needs across IDC. What You’ll Do Taxonomy Maintenance: Assist in the tagging, categorization, and mapping of enterprise data based on established governance standards. Transformation Research: Conduct market and internal research to support the transformation initiative by identifying gaps in current data structures. Operational Support: Perform routine audits of the taxonomy to ensure consistency and accuracy across all platforms. Additionally, help review and maintain quality standards across key IDC deliverables, including IDC MarketScape documents and other major research reports. Collaboration: Work closely with the senior team lead to implement structural changes and scale-up operational coverage. What You Bring Education: Bachelor’s degree in information management, Library Science, Data Science, or a related field. Experience: 0–2 years of experience in data entry, content management, or research. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with taxonomy management software or CMS tools is a plus. Content editor: Excellent written communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and structural accuracy. Can demonstrate experience reviewing and editing structured content for clarity, consistency and adherence to defined standards. Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
