Summary

We’re looking for a Survey CAD Technician to support our growing survey team. In this role, you’ll work closely with field crews, project managers, and licensed surveyors to bring data to life—turning field information into accurate, high-quality deliverables. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical side of CAD work and the collaborative nature of working across teams and project types. Work Location: Hybrid, flexible work arrangements Expected Compensation Range: $28-40 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications) Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Responsibilities

  • Prepare survey drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision plats, and easement exhibits
  • Process and interpret field survey data and translate it into clear, accurate deliverables
  • Develop and analyze 3D surface models
  • Research property records, legal descriptions, plats, and easements
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical survey records
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, planners, and project managers to support project needs
  • Partner with field crews—providing direction, answering questions, and helping ensure consistency between field and office work

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in a survey-related role
  • Solid understanding of survey field procedures and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and tools like Google Earth Pro
  • Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field, and/or formal CAD training
  • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or ArcGIS
  • Previous field survey experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and general construction principles
  • Experience working with aerial imagery or LiDAR data (Part 107 license is a plus)
