Mortgage Servicing Manager

MTG Services has been retained to identify an experienced Interim Servicing Manager to support a mortgage lender during a period of transition, growth, or operational stabilization. This is a hands-on leadership role designed to deliver immediate impact across mortgage servicing operations while strengthening compliance, controls, and team performance. Position Overview The Interim Servicing Manager will provide day-to-day leadership across performing and/or default servicing functions within an Independent Mortgage Bank (IMB) environment. This role requires strong regulatory knowledge, operational execution skills, and the ability to lead teams through change while driving measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day mortgage servicing operations, including customer service, escrow, payment processing, loss mitigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy (as applicable).
• Drive production performance and reduce backlog through workflow and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CFPB regulations (Reg X, Reg Z) and agency/investor guidelines.
• Address audit findings and support remediation efforts.
• Lead, stabilize, and hold teams accountable during periods of change.
• Monitor KPIs, reporting, and operational metrics.
• Support servicing system platforms (e.g., MSP, Sagent, Black Knight) and portfolio transfers or transitions.

Qualifications

Required

• 7–10+ years of mortgage servicing experience within an IMB or mortgage lender.
• 3–5+ years of management experience leading servicing teams.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Performing and/or default servicing operations
• CFPB regulations and investor guidelines
• Escrow and cash operations (as applicable)
• Proven experience leading through audits, regulatory reviews, or remediation efforts.
• Ability to step into leadership with minimal ramp-up time.

Preferred

• Experience with portfolio transfers or MSR acquisitions.
• Servicing system conversion or implementation experience.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement certification.
• Prior interim or consulting leadership experience.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Benefits:
