Sr. Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud & Automation
Old Dominion University is hiring a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud & Automation. The role involves building and maintaining academic and research computing environments, supporting the university's computing infrastructure, and developing automated processes for secure and compliant operations across servers, storage, networking, HPC systems, and cloud platforms. The engineer will also manage cloud resource budgets, implement security measures, and provide training and documentation to students and researchers. Highlights
- Build, configure, and support HPC systems, on-prem clusters, and cloud environments including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Nutanix.
- Develop and automate processes to optimize research, academic, and enterprise computing while ensuring compliance with data sensitivity standards.
- Provide technical support for servers, storage, networking, and virtual environments used in university research projects.
- Implement security protocols and manage budgets for cloud resources to optimize usage and reduce costs.
- Onboard and assist students and researchers in effectively utilizing virtual and physical computing environments with training and documentation.
- Work from home option available.
- Required education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
- Salary is non-negotiable, up to $101,005 annually.
- Final candidate must complete a criminal history check.
