Remote Development Director - Non-Profit Sector

Our client, a highly respected charitable organization dedicated to making a significant positive impact, is seeking a visionary and experienced Remote Development Director to lead their fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the US, contributing to vital causes without geographical constraints. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, and overseeing all aspects of development operations. Your leadership will be crucial in securing the financial resources necessary to further the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a multi-year strategic fundraising plan to meet annual and long-term revenue goals. Cultivate and manage relationships with a portfolio of major individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Oversee the grant writing and reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Plan and execute fundraising events, both virtual and in-person (when appropriate and safe). Develop compelling fundraising materials, including proposals, case statements, and appeals. Manage the donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping and stewardship activities. Collaborate with program staff to communicate impact and leverage success stories in fundraising efforts. Lead and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Stay abreast of trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising and philanthropy. Analyze fundraising data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and inform future strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising and development, with a proven track record of success. Demonstrated experience in major gift solicitation, foundation relations, and corporate partnerships. Strong understanding of nonprofit management and governance. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive appeals and proposals. Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP). Experience in planning and executing fundraising events. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
