Senior Network Engineer - 5G & Wireless Technologies

Our client, a leader in the telecommunications industry, is looking for an accomplished Senior Network Engineer specializing in 5G and advanced wireless technologies to join their innovative team in Raleigh, North Carolina, US . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge network infrastructure that supports next-generation mobile services. You will play a key part in architecting robust and scalable solutions, troubleshooting complex network issues, and ensuring the highest levels of performance and reliability. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in wireless networking, a strong understanding of 5G core and RAN technologies, and a passion for staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain advanced wireless network infrastructure, including 5G core, RAN, and transport networks. Develop network architectures that meet scalability, reliability, and performance requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and services into the existing network. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures. Conduct performance monitoring and tuning of network elements to ensure optimal operation. Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities. Participate in on-call rotation to provide emergency support for network issues. Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in wireless communication and networking. Develop and execute test plans for new hardware and software deployments. Ensure network security best practices are implemented and maintained. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in network engineering, with a significant focus on wireless technologies. In-depth knowledge of 5G architecture (SA and NSA), LTE, UMTS, and Wi-Fi standards. Strong understanding of IP networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS). Experience with network virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation is a plus. Experience with network simulation and analysis tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIE-SP) are highly desirable.
