Your role at a glance The Global Supply Chain Category Specialist supports the development and management of the Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment program for global data center construction. The OFCI Program involves assisting in the procurement of critical mechanical, electrical, and power systems, with a focus on maintaining quality and supporting on-time, on-budget delivery to construction projects worldwide. The Global Category Specialist works closely with design engineering, construction management, project controls, and operations teams to help implement supply chain strategies that align with global data center build schedules, design, and capacity targets. The Global Category Specialist also collaborates with stakeholders to support the creation and documentation of internal processes and procedures that promote consistent supply chain operations across all Global Data Center regions. This position requires foundational knowledge of construction project delivery and capital supply chain management in mission-critical environments. What we are looking for KEY responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of supply chain strategies for OFCI equipment in global DC construction projects by assisting with data collection and processing documentation.
  • Assist in various phases of the procurement life cycle, including gathering market intelligence, preparing sourcing documentation, supporting vendor evaluation, and helping with contract administration under supervision.
  • Help standardize sourcing and procurement processes by following established guidelines and documenting process steps to ensure consistency across regions.
  • Translate construction pipeline and capacity plans into procurement task lists and timelines for key equipment, assisting with scheduling and tracking orders.
  • Work with the Design team to ensure sourcing strategies align with Global Reference Design (GRD) standards and help manage updates and changes to documentation.
  • Coordinate with project controls and finance teams to provide regular updates on procurement status, contract terms, and lead times, ensuring accurate reporting and transparency.
  • Contribute to supply chain efficiency by following best practices, identifying areas for process improvement, and supporting cost and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor industry news and trends and assist in gathering information on new technologies and market conditions to support innovation and risk management.
  • Help maintain relationships with strategic suppliers by tracking communications, documenting agreements, and supporting supplier management activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of supplier performance management programs, including collecting KPI data, scheduling supplier business reviews, and helping with improvement plans.
  • Work with Regional Category Managers and GDC stakeholders to support supply chain functions such as demand planning, sourcing, and vendor selection, and assist in managing late deliveries and market pricing issues.
  • Provide project-specific KPI data for dashboard reporting and ensure accurate documentation to support global program standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for supply chain or supplier performance issues, escalating concerns to senior team members and assisting in issue resolution efforts.
  • Support Facilities Engineering and Operations teams by communicating supply chain updates and helping develop integration plans for commissioning, warranty, and maintenance.
  • Assist with supplier pre-qualification in new markets by helping collect and organize required documentation and following the standard process.
  • Help implement total cost of ownership (TCO) models by gathering and analyzing cost data to support lifecycle cost optimization.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives by helping input data into advanced planning tools and analytics platforms and assist in preparing executive briefings and dashboard reports for decision-making.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of best practice procurement processes for Mechanical, Electrical and Data Center-specific equipment and support services.
  • Experience negotiating Agreement terms and conditions, pricing, cost adjustments, supplier qualification processes, vendor selection, account relationship development, logistics, and sourcing.
  • Superior communication and analytical skills to prepare and present product demand forecasts to best meet company strategic plan and roadmaps. Presentation skills must include familiarity with presenting complex options and alternatives to Senior Management team for decisions and support of overall program goals.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Exposure to Data Center or mission critical infrastructure preferred.
  • Excellent data driven problem solving skills.
  • Proven history of year-over-year (YOY) cost and/or time to market (TTM) reductions through continual improvement or innovation.
  • Able to work in a team environment. Even-tempered and able to work through conflict with others. Manage stress and/or fast pace effectively

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma training, PMP (Project Management Professional), or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10 years' experience in supply chain, procurement, or project management. Over two years in mission critical/data center construction support including Capital Equipment procurement is preferred.
  • Strong capability and expertise in MS Office Suites, preferably in Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI and SharePoint. Visio and/or process mapping skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing multimillion-dollar CAPEX portfolios and large-scale supplier agreements.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive data driven results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), construction management tools (Primavera, Procore), and digital procurement platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Understanding of sustainability and ESG requirements within capital supply chains.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility
  • Remain stationery for long periods of time.
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
  • Perform work during US business hours and global time zones

Work conditions & other requirements

  • Attend meetings onsite at a data center location
  • Travel required 25% of time.
  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must be available by phone during assigned work schedule and after hours for emergency situations.
  • On occasions, must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.
  • Must wear close-toed shoes with solid leather or composite sole or steel toed boots as needed in construction environment

Compensation

Pay Range "This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device. NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $118,300 - $169,000. All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
