A Day in the Life As a Health Assistant/ Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll be the primary connection and resource for members seeking assistance with their healthcare needs and benefits. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by: * Supporting members in navigating the complex healthcare system via phone and digital messaging * Influencing members' decisions and behavior by making them smarter consumers of healthcare, translating benefit packages and care plans, and helping them find the right providers * Uncovering barriers that prevent members from receiving the care they need and connecting them with the right clinical resources * Leveraging technology and internal resources to understand members' paths, actions needed, and next steps * Driving better client outcomes by assisting with improved financial outcomes, helping members avoid inappropriate healthcare usage, and optimizing benefit packages and third-party vendors Key Responsibilities * Deliver interventions to support members in navigating the healthcare system * Drive better client outcomes by assisting with improved financial outcomes, helping members avoid inappropriate healthcare usage, and optimizing benefit packages and third-party vendors * Leverage technology and internal resources to understand members' paths, actions needed, and next steps * Identify and address barriers that prevent members from receiving the care they need * Connect members with the right clinical resources, such as clinicians, health plan disease management, and health plan case management * Assist members in finding doctors and healthcare providers that best suit their needs * Help members understand and optimize their preventive services * Assist members in reducing and/or eliminating avoidable admits, ER usage, and readmits * Help members have an improved quality of life Qualifications We're looking for individuals with: * A minimum of 3 years of experience in a service-based environment, or 5 years of relevant experience * A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field * Relevant background experience in insurance settings, telephonic customer service, medical offices, health plans, social services, behavioral health, counseling, healthcare coordination, pharmacy tech, benefits specialists, health coaches, case management, exercise, and health education * Highly agile and comfortable in a high-paced, innovative, technology-driven environment * Knowledge of consumer health plans and terminology * Understanding of how patients use and access healthcare * Ability to thrive in a performance-based environment * Demonstrate high levels of personal accountability, empathy, and critical thinking * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to listen, talk, and type all at once through multi-channel communications * Strong self-management and self-starter skills * Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint) * Time management and prioritization skills * Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Additional Information * arenaflex requires a broadband connection with at least 1 Mbps upload and 1 Mbps download speed.
