[Hiring] Intake Coordinator - Behavioral Medicine @Cincinnati Children's
Role Description
- Referral Management:
- Track data on number of referrals, referral types, and monthly available visit types for managing supply and demand.
- Coordinate and maintain statistical data on number of calls and disposition.
- Participate in the Performance Improvement process for the department.
- Gather clinical, medical, and demographic data to determine appropriate referral and level of care.
- Document information and refer patients to internal/external services in a timely manner.
- Customer Service:
- Respond promptly to intake requests.
- Initiate referral process to meet the needs of CHMC's patients as determined by department management and medical staff.
- External Evaluation:
- Triage and evaluate referrals.
- Assess for appropriateness and/or determine options within or outside of CCHMC.
- Triage and evaluate patient need vs. service availability for outpatient referrals.
- Advocate for the needs of the child and adolescent patient and family within the hospital and the community.
- Patient Assessment:
- Assess patient need to determine phone call urgency.
- If routine, assess needs and provide specific referral options.
- If urgent, transfer to appropriate clinician.
- Customer Service:
- Develop skills and knowledge to interact with third-party payers and managed care.
- Maintain professional relationships with referral sources and managed care contacts.
- Authorize outpatient care and collect specific benefit information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
