Remote Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Our client, a progressive manufacturing company committed to operational excellence and safety, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their team. This is a critical remote role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs across the organization. You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, foster a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of EHS best practices and a passion for creating safe and healthy work environments. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures. Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions, and water usage. Manage the company's safety management system and promote a proactive safety culture. Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices. Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies. Coordinate with external agencies, consultants, and auditors as needed. Develop and manage emergency preparedness and response plans. Champion sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship. Analyze EHS data to identify trends and develop data-driven improvement strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful EHS programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication, presentation, and training delivery skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly desirable. Experience with EHS management software is a plus.
