Key responsibilities

As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and implementation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and improve data quality
  • Providing guidance and expertise on data governance best practices and industry standards
  • Developing and maintaining data governance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Identifying and mitigating data governance risks and compliance issues
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement data governance training programs
  • Providing support and guidance to data governance teams and stakeholders

What you'll need for success

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, or business administration
  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, with a focus on IT data governance
  • Experience leading teams and projects, with a proven track record of success
  • Strong knowledge of data governance best practices and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate data governance risks and compliance issues
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as data quality and metadata management software

Preferred qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A master's degree in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, or business administration
  • Experience with data governance certifications, such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional)
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, such as COBIT or ITIL
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as data quality and metadata management software
  • Experience with data governance training and development, with a focus on data governance best practices and industry standards
