Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative/Licensed Personal Lines Insurance Agent, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional service to existing clients, including updating policies, quoting new business, taking payments, answering questions, and providing documentation.
  • Answering customer calls and correspondence regarding new or existing insurance policies, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
  • Working with new clients and/or supporting a producer to understand their needs, gather necessary data, research policy options, present options, finalize and bind new coverage, cancel old policies, and bind renewals.
  • Setting appointments and/or client calls or supporting a producer to review existing policies, review liability limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, round out accounts, and bind renewals.
  • Conferencing with customers to provide detailed information about products and services, quote new business, process renewals and/or cancel accounts, take payments, and provide requested documentation.
  • Resolving product or service issues by clarifying the customer's concern, determining the cause of the issue, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the issue, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Reviewing policies, verifying accuracy, and facilitating corrections as needed between client and carrier.
  • Maintaining records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, and actions taken in the agency management system, with a preference for Hawksoft.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • An active CA property casualty insurance license.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating and underwriting procedures.
  • Excellent customer focus and phone manner, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset, as well as technology and computer proficiency, including agency management systems, rating tools, and carrier website navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry, working with personal lines customers.

  • Working knowledge of carrier underwriting procedures and rating systems.
  • Familiarity with agency management systems, such as Hawksoft.
  • Experience with quoting and re-quoting current and new customers.
