As a Customer Service Representative in our Licensing Division, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to licensing applicants, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in New York City, NY. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-volume customer service to licensing applicants in person and via phone, ensuring that their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
  • Processing applications, checking records for accuracy, and maintaining compliance with established policy and procedures.
  • Assisting applicants with outreach to other city agencies and interagency communication to resolve issues related to their license.
  • Answering telephone calls, emails, and written correspondence, communicating applicant information, and providing accurate responses.
  • Attending seminars, meetings, and trainings to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Performing ordinary mathematical computations while accepting and processing payments.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records, including data processing functions, recording, researching, checking, and maintaining records.
  • Following all division and agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience, preferably in a customer service or licensing environment.
  • Strong customer service, communications, and organizational skills.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
