About the Role

World Fuel Services, part of World Kinect, is a global leader in aviation fuel and trip support services, supporting aircraft operations in over 8,000 locations worldwide. We are expanding our Johannesburg office and are seeking Trip Support Specialists to join our Aviation Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global environment supporting complex international flight operations. As a Trip Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in coordinating end-to-end flight support services, ensuring seamless execution of international trips for our customers while delivering a world-class service experience. What You’ll Do In this dynamic, customer-facing role, you will: Manage and coordinate end-to-end aviation trip support services, including: Ground handling Overflight and landing permits Fuel arrangements Customs and immigration services Crew accommodation and transportation Act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication throughout all stages of the trip Monitor and manage active trip operations, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date, and aligned with customer requirements Handle incoming operational communications, including phone, email, and aviation messaging systems (e.g. SITA/AFTN) Maintain and update trip data within operational systems with a high degree of accuracy Collaborate closely with internal teams (fuel, customer relations, commercial) to deliver seamless service Support customers with fuel quotes and arrangements, including after-hours when required Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient trip execution Contribute to building strong, long-term customer relationships through exceptional service delivery What We’re Looking For We are looking for driven, detail-oriented professionals with a passion for aviation and customer service: Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage high-pressure situations Excellent communication skills (verbal and written in English) High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly in operational environments Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Experience & Background Experience in aviation operations, trip planning, flight dispatch, or travel/logistics support is highly preferred Prior experience in: Air charter operations Flight planning Ground handling or airport operations Corporate aviation or airline operations Aviation knowledge is essential (airport operations, permits, flight processes, etc.) Aviation Dispatch Certification (FAA / FOO or equivalent) is a strong advantage Experience using aviation systems or operational platforms is beneficial Working Hours This role operates on a shift-based schedule, including: Evenings Weekends Public holidays 👉 Flexibility is essential due to the 24/7 nature of global aviation operations Education Minimum Matric (Grade 12) required Why Join World Fuel Services?
