Position Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Responding to initial patient-family requests and providing detailed explanations of patient billing information
  • Resolving patient-family questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborating with other departments to research patient billing history and resolve outstanding issues
  • Consistently demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Working closely with patients, families, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and resolution

Key Responsibilities

* Respond to patient inquiries and resolve billing-related issues in a timely and professional manner

  • Provide detailed explanations of patient billing information and resolve patient-family questions and concerns
  • Collaborate with other departments to research patient billing history and resolve outstanding issues
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve complex issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and billing information
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on billing and follow-up processes

Essential Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of customer service experience
  • Experience working with a wide variety of PC applications
  • Working knowledge of billing and follow-up processes
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards and PCI compliance regulations
  • Proficient use of systems (computer, applications, phone systems)
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to be self-directed
  • Strong time management skills, managing multiple priorities and a heavy workload in a high-stress atmosphere

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with patients and families

  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding principles
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
