Labor Compliance Analyst

About the position Nexamp is growing their Labor Compliance team and seeking to hire a Compliance Analyst. You will play a key role in supporting Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship compliance across our clean energy construction portfolio. You will help ensure compliance with federal, state, and project labor standards while safeguarding the organization’s eligibility for public funding and tax incentives. Your work will also contribute to executive risk reporting and support the successful delivery of projects that expand clean energy. You will be hybrid out of our Washington, DC office. You will report to the Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Review certified payroll records (CPRs), fringe benefits, and apprenticeship documentation for accuracy and compliance with federal and state labor regulations.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze payroll data, reports, spreadsheets, and databases to support compliance determinations and analytical reporting.
  • Communicate directly with subcontractors to resolve discrepancies, missing documentation, and CPR deficiencies.
  • Clearly articulate regulatory requirements, corrective actions, and cure timelines while maintaining professional authority.
  • Complete compliance audits; calculate underpayments, restitution, applicable interest, fines, and penalties where . Prepare audit findings for review.
  • Investigate complaints of noncompliance related to prevailing wage payments, fringe benefits, and apprenticeship violations.
  • Monitor updates to federal and state labor laws, prevailing wage determinations, and apprenticeship standards. Integrate regulatory changes into internal procedures, controls, and compliance practices.
  • Report monthly on key compliance metrics summarizing findings, trends, and risk exposure.
  • Maintain contractor compliance profiles and ensure accurate documentation management.
  • Interface with contractors, internal leadership, client representatives, and government agencies to resolve compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to subcontractors on labor requirements to promote proactive compliance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in auditing or regulatory compliance work.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably within Accounting , Law or Legal Studies , Business Administration, Public Administration, or related fields.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and document audits and investigations related to regulatory violations. Capable of documenting findings in a methodical and defensible manner.
  • Ability to interpret technical materials, statutes, regulations, and compliance guidance; apply authoritative resources to specific project conditions and contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, analyze, and document contract, payroll, and invoice data. Skilled in managing large datasets and maintaining organized information management systems.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and particularly Excel.
