Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Customer Services Representative to join our Small Animal Reception team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional front-line client services, supporting clients, customers, clinicians, and care-giving colleagues. This is a full-time position (32 hours/week) with varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $17.00-$21.69.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Customer Services Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to routine, complex, and medical emergency situations in a professional manner
  • Answering and directing internal and external calls appropriately
  • Creating accurate day-to-day admitting information through our hospital computer system
  • Resolving routine problems and complex situations using medical terminology, office practices, and established customer service principles
  • Maintaining safe and accurate money handling practices and adhering to university privacy standards

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2 years of experience in a customer service, healthcare, or veterinary care environment
  • Background in customer services, insurance verification, and/or veterinary practice customer services
  • Ability to work independently while interacting with customers, visitors, clinicians, technicians, and medical center faculty and staff
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting information, with proficiency in electronic medical records systems and computer operations

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic

  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Experience with hospital computer systems and electronic medical records
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
