Online Statistics Tutor (Biostatistics focus, NEET / MCAT / AIIMS Prep)
Location: Remote — India-based candidates preferred. Role: Remote · 1-on-1 online · Part-time / Freelance / Hourly. ROLE SUMMARY We are hiring a Statistics tutor for 1-on-1 online sessions with a university-level student preparing for medical entrance exams. The emphasis is biostatistics: descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, and diagnostic test evaluation (sensitivity, specificity, predictive values). You will move quickly between theory and applied medical-context problems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Build a 10–12 week plan covering descriptive stats, probability distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing (t-test, z-test, chi-square, ANOVA), correlation/regression, and biostatistics-specific topics. - Teach interpretation, not just calculation — every concept gets tied to a clinical or research scenario the student would face on an MCAT/NEET-style question. - Run weekly problem sets drawing from MCAT CARS-adjacent quantitative passages, AIIMS biostat questions, and standard textbooks. - Use a digital tablet to walk through worked solutions live; share solutions as PDF after each session. - Maintain a running error log per topic so we can target weak areas in revision sprints. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Applied Mathematics. - 2–3 years of 1-on-1 or small-group teaching experience at +2 / undergraduate / med-prep level. - Fluent spoken and written English — MANDATORY. - Own a digital writing tablet (Wacom, XP-Pen, iPad + Apple Pencil, or equivalent) for live working. - Comfort with Excel/Google Sheets and ideally R or Python for demonstrating distributions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Biostatistics teaching experience or applied biomedical research background. - Prior med-entrance coaching (NEET, AIIMS, MCAT) or USMLE biostatistics tutoring. - Familiarity with Rosner's Fundamentals of Biostatistics or Pagano & Gauvreau's Principles of Biostatistics. COMPENSATION Competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on biostatistics experience. Paid weekly.
