Our client is looking for a highly skilled Automotive Diagnostic and Repair Specialist to join our fully remote technical support team. This position is crucial for providing expert-level remote assistance to customers and field technicians facing complex automotive diagnostics and repair challenges. You will leverage advanced diagnostic tools, comprehensive vehicle data, and your extensive automotive knowledge to guide them through troubleshooting procedures, identify root causes of issues, and recommend effective repair solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of modern vehicle electrical systems, engine performance, and diagnostic protocols. The ideal candidate is an independent problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain technical information. region and nationally. Responsibilities: Provide remote diagnostic support for complex automotive issues across a wide range of makes and models. Analyze diagnostic data, scan tool information, and vehicle telemetry to identify fault codes and system malfunctions. Guide customers and field technicians through step-by-step troubleshooting procedures. Research and provide recommendations for repair procedures, parts, and technical service bulletins. Maintain accurate records of diagnostic consultations and resolutions. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements. Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques. Develop and contribute to a knowledge base of common vehicle problems and solutions. Communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Assist in training and mentoring junior technical support staff. Qualifications: ASE Certifications (G1, A6, A8, L1, etc.) are highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with a strong emphasis on diagnostics. Proficiency with advanced automotive diagnostic equipment, scan tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters. In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical systems, hybrid/electric vehicle systems, and chassis components. Familiarity with automotive network communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment. Comfortable utilizing remote access tools and digital platforms for communication and data sharing.
