This temporary position is a 100% remote position, with the main office located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh - Wake County, with the Department of Health & Human Services. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $38.33 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is responsible for ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all North Carolinians. The Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities Central Office oversees a dozen facilities located across the state delivering residential, nursing, psychiatric, addiction treatment, or educational services to individuals with unique and complex challenges. Facilities operate 24/7 and must continually deliver care irrespective of disaster impacts. The primary purpose of the BCP Coordinator position is to develop divisional Business Continuity and Continuity of Operations Plans as well as facilitate disaster recovery testing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate division central office activities toward enhancing, formalizing, and standardizing the business continuity planning process, including forecasting and tracking mechanisms across all business units and other agencies, to facilitate timely accommodation of future recovery requirements and opportunities.
  • Provide Continuity of Operation Planning (COOP) review, analysis, and documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Business Continuity Plan (BCP) strategies, plans, procedures, and plan integration.
  • Coordinate Disaster Recovery Testing in collaboration with Division of Information Technology (DIT) contacts.
  • Serve as a liaison with state-wide entities, DHHS ITD and DHR subject matter experts, and local DSOHF facility leaders to coordinate continuity, restoration activities, and emergency management.
  • Identify central office and division-wide gaps in BCPCOOP through risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in reviewing projects and systems throughout all phases of their life cycle in an effort to identify organizational BCP, COOP, and DR planning requirements.
  • Continually review plans to identify opportunities for improvement based on business, regulatory, or industry-specific changes.
  • Perform annual audits of existing disaster recovery/business continuity.
