Why This Role Matters

As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you are the face of the brand. You will be responsible for delivering a seamless, courteous, and efficient experience that keeps customers returning and builds trust in our pharmacy services. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Greet every customer with a warm smile, assess their needs, and provide knowledgeable assistance on products, services, and pharmacy offerings.
  • Checkout Operations: Accurately process sales transactions, handle cash, credit, and digital payments, and manage returns, voids, discounts, and exchanges in compliance with company policy.
  • Product Knowledge & Upselling: Recommend complementary items, promote seasonal promotions, and suggest higher‑margin products that enhance the shopping experience.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain tidy, well‑stocked shelves; perform regular inventory counts, receive shipments, and execute FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) procedures for perishable goods.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to state and local regulations for controlled substances, alcohol, and tobacco; follow arenaflex’s loss‑prevention and safety protocols.
  • Visual Merchandising: Set up promotional displays, refresh end‑cap layouts, and keep the store environment clean, organized, and inviting.
  • Pharmacy Support: Assist customers with prescription drop‑offs and pick‑ups, operate the photo center, and provide basic guidance on over‑the‑counter health products.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with shift leads, department managers, and fellow associates to achieve daily operational goals and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in on‑the‑job training, complete required certifications, and stay current on product updates, health regulations, and arenaflex initiatives.
  • Special Projects: Contribute to store‑wide initiatives such as seasonal resets, community outreach events, and store‑wide audits as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: At least six months of experience in a retail environment; prior experience in a pharmacy or health‑care setting is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; ability to convey information clearly and courteously.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable using point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, inventory scanners, and basic computer applications.
  • Integrity: Demonstrated ability to handle cash and confidential information responsibly.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with pharmacy terminology and over‑the‑counter health products.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer concerns.
  • Ability to multitask in a high‑traffic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and a genuine desire to help others.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Prioritizing the needs of shoppers and patients, anticipating their questions, and delivering solutions promptly.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate cash handling, precise inventory tracking, and compliance with health‑related regulations.
  • Adaptability: Thriving in a dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly and new initiatives are introduced regularly.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Sharing information openly, supporting colleagues during busy periods, and contributing to a respectful workplace.
  • Ethical Judgment: Upholding arenaflex’s standards for safety, privacy, and loss prevention.
