Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leader in the aviation industry, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for a fully remote position. This role is critical for ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of our fleet. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of technicians. You will be responsible for performing complex maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and company procedures. Responsibilities: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of aircraft types. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues. Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings. Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in strict accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies. Lead and mentor a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and oversight. Conduct quality checks and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and labor hours. Manage inventory of parts and materials, ensuring availability for maintenance tasks. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and safety. Stay current with new technologies, regulations, and best practices in aviation maintenance. Qualifications: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is mandatory. Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, with a strong focus on line and heavy maintenance. Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role within an aviation maintenance environment. Extensive knowledge of various aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, avionics, engines). Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of FAA regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with a team. Possession of own tools is typically required.
